Student Spotlight: Saadhvi Jayaram

Saadhvi Jayaram (age 8) performed her original composition Under the Banyan Tree at the National Junior Original Concert on June 25, 2018 in Cerritos, CA. Here's a Q&A with her about her experience with music lessons, and a little bit of everything else!

Q: How long have you been playing piano?

A: Since I started how to learn walking, actually.

Q: What is your favorite song to play?

A: Mm... It's hard because all of the songs are really beautiful. But I think it would mostly be my compositions. It's this year's composition.

Q: What else do you do in your spare time?

A: When I hear a new song and I really like it, I usually go to the piano and play it.

Q: How much do you practice every day?

A: How ever long it takes to make that part perfect.

Q: What's your favorite part about coming to Yamaha?

A: Having fun and learning new songs.

Q: What's your favorite color?

A: It's basically purple and blue because it's galaxy.

Q: What is your favorite subject in school?

A: Um, I'd say PE. Because it's always fun and get to do new games all the time.

Q: What advice would you give to a new piano player?

A: Try your best. I would usually say try your best and have fun. I would also usually say practice really hard and follow directions.
